Dear George,
Hello there good sir, how are you? Good weekend? I was lucky enough to have my weekend stretch right up until Tuesday... Today is my Monday. It is a pleasant 17*C this evening, my 3h 30min train ride from Exeter this morning was on time and a 1st class stamp remains 46p.
If you have been a regular reader of these letters that, if anything, chart my slow decent into madness, you'll be fully aware that i'm craving a little more adventure in my life. Bit by bit i'm taking more ownership of my life and forging a plan to get a bit more UMMPH back into my life. However, embarking on a mammoth task like this takes a great deal of care and planning - most important of all, of course, is writing the spin-off book.
So this past weekend i found myself in Exeter visiting and re-connecting with my Dad and the new family that comes with him. It is Sunday and while i sit and wait in an awfully crowed weatherspoons i reach a conclusion... Female students are not hot on a Sunday.
That is not to say i didn't see any pretty girls there, no no no... What i mean is at that moment, Sunday lunch time, i was a wash wit a sea of hungover faces. Make-up had been primed off, hair scrapped back and all across the room it was wall to wall baggy jeans, joggers and jumpers. I would bet my life savings that no more than 12 hours previous these young ladies would have looked like they'd stepped off catwalks, movie sets and, and in some cases, brothels.
I jest of course, i'm sure i'll get emails now from my nearest and dearest reminding me just how long i like to take to get ready before i go out. I'll sign off for now buddy because i did i ton of writing while i was away and i want to get my notes in order before i tell the rest of story. But it was a great little trip for me and i'm feeling all positive and energised...
Take care buddy,
Yours,
Little Dave
