Midnight Tango Adventure

Dear George,

Good evening mate.  It's 7*C outside.  I didn't ride the trains today but Sophie's train from Liverpool ran 30 mins late this morning and was charged a whooping £73, (yes SEVENTY THREE POUNDS!!!!) for having the temerity to buy a ticket for the same day she wished to travel.  Stamps are still 46 pence.

Saturday 15th January the theatre in which i work said goodbye to the show A round heeled woman  and after 34 hours of lumping around lights, coiling up cable and screwing down scenery, Midnight Tango was well and truly in.

It's a big old fancy dancy show with a couple of sequined stars of Strictly Come Dancing.  In many ways it's the same as the previous straight plays we've housed here at the Aldwych, except where there was plot, acting and dramatic moments, we now have scantly clad young ladies twirling around. a seamless transition i'm sure you all agree.

I can't believe (this is always a surprise to me) just how quickly we go from one show to an empty stage to another performance in such a short space of time.  Quick turn arounds usually fill me with dread.  This time however, i felt great about what we all achieved.  Could it be that i'm actually getting better and more confident at this?

the 13hour days are a little tiresome but the last couple of days my role was to observe the show in all its' split-skirted, plunging neck-lined glory, as a way to ready myself for the ultimate task of operating the lighting desk for the performance.

I can honestly say i really like this show.  The dancing is pretty amazing, the look of the design is athletically pleasing and i've not seen this much tasty thigh since last i was in KFC...

...I'll sign off now for no.  As i read this back to myself i realise that i'm in danger of allowing my imagination, and thus my vivid descriptions, to plummet in to the gutter.

Take care buddy,
Yours,

Little Dave
